My 40 Wins
As the appealing, amazing University of Kentucky men's basketball team prepares to play Wisconsin in tonight's semi-final NCAA game for what we hope will be a historic 40-0 season, I offer just 40 out of at least 4,000 wins I get from living in Lexington, Kentucky.
Lexington Public Library and (bonus) the Northside branch Digital Studio
My Fourth Wednesday book group
The Old Episcopal Burying Ground and (bonus) London Ferrill Community Garden
Paul's Foreign Auto
Smithtown Seafood and (bonus) easy, beautiful trips to all the other Holly Hill Inn family of restaurants
Spirit of hope and positive change
Trivial Thursdays on WRFL
West Sixth Brewing and (bonus) the incredible array of community events that find a home there
WLXL: Low-power community FM radio, on its way
I stop arbitrarily at 40 (with a few bonuses), without touching the realms of politics and faith. It's already a winning season where I live.
