Podcast 30: Maggie Green of Green Apron, Cookbook Author and Authority

We so enjoyed being with Lexington native Maggie Green, who now lives in Covington, Kentucky—and kindly drove to the studios of Lexington Community Radio to be with us. Maggie writes, edits, coaches others on writing cookbooks, owns The Green Apron Company, and shares with Ouita Michel the distinct credential of Girl Scout alumna status from a happy troupe in Lexington, Kentucky a few years ago. Maggie's latest book, Tasting Kentucky: Favorite Recipes from the Bluegrass State, features beautiful food photography by Sarah Jane Sanders, a foreword by Ouita Michel and more than 100 recipes from authoritative chefs, restaurants, inns, cafés and B&Bs in the Bluegrass. During the show, Maggie talked in detail about one of the recipes that uses classic Kentucky ingredients in entirely new ways—and it turned out that recipe is Ouita Michel's favorite from the book. Listen and learn all about it.
